How to charge an Electric Vehicle?

You can recharge at different locations:

At home:
To charge at home:

  • Open the charging port: Locate and open your EV's charging port, which is typically found near the front or rear of the vehicle.
  • Connect the charger: Plug the charging cable into your vehicle's charging port. Make sure it is securely connected to start the charging process
  • Monitor the charging status: Check your vehicle’s dashboard or charging app to monitor the charging status. It will show the charging progress and estimated time remaining
  • Disconnect after charging: Once your vehicle is fully charged, disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle. Store the cable properly for future use.
  • Close the charging port: Ensure the charging port is closed to protect it from dirt.

    At public charging stations:

    • Identify the closest charging station available using the Shell app
    • Once you're there, park your vehicle on the dedicated parking space
    • Connect the cable to the vehicle side first, then connect the cable to the charging station (for Fast charger, there will already be a cable on the charging pole, in this case just plug-it to your vehicle). Make sure your vehicle doors are closed.
    • Slowly swipe your card on the RFID reader. The green light turns blue.
    • The charging session begins, let your electric vehicle charge safely.
    • To stop the charge, slowly swipe your card on the RFID reader. The light, which was blue or green if the battery was full, turns off.
    • Unplug the charging cable and store it in your vehicle (unless if the charging cable was already on the charging pole).
    • You can check the details of your session on your app. The charges will be automatically billed to your charging card.
